Hand-crafted original
Lighter than standard field shields, the Woodlander was designed for mounted use — its reduced depth and bevelled upper edge clearing the saddle and bridle arm while retaining full torso protection in the Germanic fashion of c. 1400.
The body is formed from plywood, cold-pressed under load for 72 hours before finishing. The face carries a naturalistic woodland device — oak leaves and acorns — in hand-mixed earth pigments with a beeswax-resin finish that deepens in colour with age. The grip system uses a double strap with a separate guige, allowing quick release in the event of a fall. This is a premium-specification build with no concessions to speed of production.
